Welcome Aboard Letter
with Sea Bag List

WELCOME LETTER WITH SEA BAG LIST

This Welcome Letter 2025 is long; however it contains information we have learned that will give each cadet the best possible chance of success and will answer most of your questions. Please review the information carefully, and in its entirety. The cadet sea bag list is in the Welcome Letter.
Officer Sea Bag Requirements

The Sea Bag List Is The Same
For All Training
and For Staff Cadets

The sea bag list is the same for all training; it is the same if you are a NLO cadet or in MAA or a staff cadet. Review the training sea bag list.  All items must be marked with the cadet's last name and first initial (all underwear and socks look the same).  We do not, and cannot provide missing uniform items. Be sure all flashes and name tapes are sewn on uniforms correctly before you arrive. All uniforms should be clean and pressed. EVERYTHING MUST FIT IN YOUR SEA BAG, NO other garment or dry-cleaning bags desired. Exception to this is the bedding which may be brought in a garbage bag.
How to Fold Uniforms

How to Pack a Sea Bag, USNSCC style (follow the FCCT sea bag list)

How to a Fold Dress White Blouse

How to Fold Dress White Trousers
To make sea bag inspection quicker, we are asking that you put t-shirts, underwear, socks, and toiletries in separate gallon size zip loc bags. Label each with cadet name and quantity and item description. For example: SMITH, T, 6 BLUE T-SHIRTS or SMITH, T, 3 BLUE T-SHIRTS & 3 COYOTE BROWN T-SHIRTS & 1 WHITE T-SHIRT.
If required items are not in the sea bag, parents will be required to obtain missing items from Meijer or Wal-Mart, so please make sure everything is there.

The base does not provide sheets, blankets, or pillows. Please bring one twin bedding set; white twin size flat sheet, one white fitted bottom sheet, and one white pillow case. Also pack a twin-size blanket in navy blue, black, or gray and a pillow. The rack (bed) cannot be made in a military fashion using a sleeping bag or comforter, NO sleeping bags or comforters.

Items most frequently forgotten: ID card, Ribbon bar, Dixie cup, Combination cover, neckerchief, and belt and/or buckle.
